Creativity has a way of waiting for us.
I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. As a child, I was rarely without a pencil in my hand, happily sketching anything that captured my imagination. Before long, I discovered watercolor and fell in love with its luminous, flowing nature. Friends began asking for paintings, and to my amazement, they even bought them. Long before I thought of myself as an artist, others already did.
As a teenager, I dreamed of studying art at the Sorbonne in Paris, imagining days spent surrounded by artists, history, and beauty. My parents envisioned a different future and encouraged me to attend college close to home and pursue a more traditional career. Although life took me in another direction, creativity never truly left me, it simply waited patiently for me to return.
Years later, during one of the darkest seasons of my life, an old gold velvet sofa changed everything. What began as a furniture project became a journey back to myself. With every brushstroke, I rediscovered joy, hope, and a part of me I thought had been lost.
Today, I create in watercolor, acrylic, oil, and vintage-style clay paint. Whether I’m painting delicate botanicals, expressive animals, or transforming forgotten furniture, I’m always chasing the same thing: the beauty found in ordinary moments. Light, color, and the quiet details that often go unnoticed continue to inspire every piece I create.
Alongside my life as an artist, I’ve spent decades helping others as a Licensed Professional Counselor and hold a Ph.D. in Clinical Sexology. Although counseling and art may seem worlds apart, they share a common purpose: helping people heal, grow, and rediscover hope.
Every painting is an invitation to rediscover wonder. My hope is that my artwork encourages you to pause, notice the beauty around you, and believe it’s never too late to begin again.
